E.43 The Beauty Behind My Parisian Life

Yanique Francis is a Paris based businesswoman, expert event planner, travel writer, and industry consultant. She founded MyParisianLife, a French Food and lifestyle blog that was named one of the best Paris blogs by Spotted by Locals in 2019. In 2016, she founded the first elopement planning wedding agency in France, ElopeinParis. In 2020, Francis founded Avance/Bien, a company that creates rituals of self-care towards a female audience.

Listen in as Yanique shares about how she is taking care of herself and her business during this time.
In this week’s talk show, we are talking about the importance of doing things that make you feel good and how that leads to success.

When Yanique made the decision to run MyParisianLife as a real business, she faced many hurdles. However, she believes that no matter what industry you are in or what job you do, there will always be hurdles. The only thing that you can do is tell yourself that you are courageous enough to live your best life and keep moving forward.

The most important step Yanique took is when she decided what she wanted to do for herself even when she didn’t know the specifics of how she was going to do it. It is very important to question yourself on what makes you feel good, she says, because everything done in the energy of feel-good and love will always lead to success. Your audience can sense your happiness and passion through your work that way. Anyone who is an entrepreneur can testify that they face many challenges. Even Yanique herself has had many projects and jobs that did not take off, but that is just a part of it. You just have to keep going, have fun, and make money. When you enjoy things, the legacy should come later. What you enjoy in the moment is the most important thing to keep in mind.

If she had to choose one thing that makes her proud, she would say getting up and knowing that she is doing what she was born to do makes her feel so proud. She always feels the joy of knowing exactly what she wants to do.

Parisians, like residents of other cities, are in an immense sense of solidarity, and what keeps them going is knowing that we are all in this together. Within just 24 hours, Yanique lost all of her business along with her colleagues in the wedding and event industry. She took solace in the fact that this loss brought those in the industry closer together and created an opportunity for her to build stronger relationships with her clients.

Paris is slowly moving out of quarantine with restaurants opening back up and things are slowly but surely going back to normal. It feels like a holiday when she goes outside, she says, everyone is happy and the weather is nice. Confinement has its joys: neighbors have the chance to slow down and connect with each other more. It’s so important to find positivity through these times.

Lastly, our dear readers, Yanique is going through a transition period that you may be going through as well. She is honestly not too well, but she is taking it day by day, and reminding herself to stay positive. She allows herself to really slow down and take care of herself. At the same time, she lets herself be excited about all the changes in store for all of us.

Please remember, challenges lead to growth and self-development, no matter how hard they are.
